Hello and welcome! I'm Samantha Herrera, a licensed clinical social worker, psychotherapist and a woman of deep faith with a heartfelt commitment to guiding individuals, especially women, through their unique healing journeys. With over a decade of experience, my mission is to offer a path to restoration, growth, and transformation firmly rooted in understanding the 'why' behind our actions and behaviors.

A Therapist with a Diverse and Holistic Approach

In my practice, I blend a wide range of specializations to address the complexities of the human experience. My expertise spans women's issues, relationship counseling, family conflicts, addictions, betrayals, trauma, depression, anxiety, and much more. I am particularly passionate about aiding mothers in their journey through parenting, especially those with neurodivergent children w/ special needs. I can also offer Christian based counseling and I will meet you where you are with your faith and spirituality.

  • Trained in Pastoral Care at the Brooklyn Center Hospital in NY and led missionary work in the Philippines.

Samantha Herrera, LCSW-R, CFTP, ADHD-CCSP, ASDCS, SIFI, EMDR trained, CSAT candidate, is a seasoned professional with a Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) degree from The City University of New York- Herbert H. Lehman College, earned in 2010. Her extensive experience encompasses working with families in both community and hospital settings, including inpatient/outpatient psychiatry and as a dedicated Behavioral Health Care Manager.

Specializing in supporting individuals and families, Samantha has made significant contributions to the field. She is an author and co-author of multiple abstracts and professional journal publications, notably the publication "Treating depression in an urban primary care setting: Introducing an adapted therapeutic approach to improve behavioral health engagement in primary care," featured in the Social Work in Health Care journal in 2018.

Samantha has shared her clinical expertise on an international stage, presenting at the 8th International Conference on Social Work in Health & Mental Health in Singapore, where she represented Mount Sinai Health System as a delegate. She has also been a presenter at professional ground rounds and NY state Collaborative Care Webinars.

In her role as a Co-Preceptor educator at the Icahn School of Medicine, Samantha has played a vital role in shaping the next generation of professionals. Her dedication extends to supervising LMSW social workers and BSW/MSW-Interns. Beyond her institutional roles, Samantha has made a meaningful impact in the private sector, providing psychotherapy to children, families, and adults facing chronic mental illnesses and sex/porn addictions.
